Backflow Testing & Repair Technician

Job description

We are searching for someone to test and repair backflow preventers for annual inspections required by local utility departments. This is a great opportunity for someone who is experienced in backflow testing or repair, or one looking for a new career with potential for advancement. Comprehensive training is provided. This is a full-time, piecework position.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid Florida Driver's License

• Reliable, work-capable personal vehicle

 

Work is performed outside in the elements daily, often in conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain.

 

Examples of Duties:

• Receive, prioritize, and route work orders

• Safely navigate to and from each job site

• Perform backflow inspections and repairs

• Ensure care of materials, supplies, tools, and equipment.

• Maintain thorough and accurate records and perform data entry on a daily basis, including: work orders, logs, reports, and readings

• Receive and respond to guidance from Senior Technicians

• Provide customer service

• Maintain knowledge of relevant local utility codes and requirements

• On call/after-hours/weekend Emergencies

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Mechanically inclined

• Attention to detail

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems

• Exceptional verbal and written communication

• Ability to provide excellent customer service

• Excellent time management skills

• 2 years of trade or relevant experience

 

You will be required to attend a 4 day certification course that spans two weekends upon hiring.

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

 

Schedule:

 

• 8 hour shift

• Monday to Friday
